How many times can you take a Relias test? ›

Once you have finished the assessment completely, you will not be allowed to retake the assessment. Once the Assessment is completed and submitted, you will be prompted to either go back to Assessments or go to Transcript.

Upon completion of the assessment, you can view your results and proceed to the course content. Although you can't see how you scored on each individual assessment question, you can see which content is required and which content is optional based on your assessment score.

After completing the Relias Checklist you will receive a score out of 4.0. A score of 2.7/4.0 or above is considered proficient, any score below that will prohibit you from applying to a job in that specific for 6 months. If you pass the checklist, you will be considered proficient for the next 12 months.

The “completed” score is the lowest, meaning you failed the assessment. The next score, “familiar”, means you show some understanding but are still not proficient in the skills. To show you are skillful and competent in the evaluated skill, you should only display a “proficient” score.

Generally, a score of 60%-80% indicates a basic knowledge of the subject being tested with scores above 80% indicating an advanced knowledge of the subject being tested. However, simply because a candidate scores less than 60%, it does not follow that the score is unacceptable.

A mean scale score is the average performance of a group of students on an assessment. Specifically, a mean scale score is calculated by adding all individual student scores and dividing by the number of total scores. It can also be referred to as an average.

There are no limits on how many times you can retake a CLEP test. Based on the 90-day retake waiting period, you could theoretically take the same CLEP subject test four times in a calendar year. Based on CLEP pass-rate data, some tests seem to have a higher success rate than others.

Candidates who fail will be told their score, as well as diagnostic information to help prepare for re-examination. Candidates who do not pass a part of the exam after four attempts during the May 1 through February 28 test window must wait until the next testing period before attempting the part again.
